Throughout the production of the Risk Factor documentary and during our public awareness campaign, the Risk team has been working with several partners and collaborators whose work involves risk assessment and the communication of risk to the public.
One type of risk that is relevant to all of us involves understanding the effects of radiation to our health. To get a handle on assessing these risks, we have consulted with Fiona McNeill who participated in the documentary, and McMaster University’s Radiation Sciences Graduate Program (RadGrad) who have helped in the development of the mobile app and the public awareness campaign.
On April 20th, in partnership with RadGrad, we’re hosting a panel of leading experts to look at how science risks can be better communicated to public. As part of the event, attendees will get a sneak peak of a clip from the documentary and get an introduction to our engaging personalized mobile app, Risk Navigator.
"Risky Business: Communicating Risk in Science" - is open to the public. If you'd like to be at the forefront of risk assessment, and be the first to view this national campaign, you can find information on how to attend below.
